A fully integrated, state-of-the-art CCTV system is on the cards for the Mauritius Prison and Detention Centre and Bosch Security Systems has been chosen to carry out the multimillion rand project there.
The specifications for the two sites have called for the installation of more than 70 surveillance cameras on the premises that can all be centrally controlled. A mixture of cameras will be used with envirodomes chosen for external use and standard static autodomes to be used indoors. The envirodomes boast the company's high-speed tilt and pan units and are also hardy enough to withstand outdoor environmental elements. The veridomes also have superior zoom features. The static indoor cameras meanwhile, have been secured with Philips' specially designed camera housing units.
The central video matrix control point includes a system of recording multiplexers, which ensures that all the video footage can be viewed and monitored with ease and that continuous and simultaneous recording is possible.
