Oberthur Card Systems and Face Technologies have announced an exclusive distribution agreement that aims to develop smartcard-based markets through a wider coverage and relevant solutions.

"Especially in this part of the world, the smartcard technology needs to be deployed with strong local technical support and the capability to develop turnkey solutions. After several years of collaboration, we've identified Face Technologies as the best possible partner thanks to its extensive experience in designing, developing and implementing security solutions in Africa, and this strategic partnership will reinforce Oberthur's position in the southern Africa countries," stated Xavier Drilhon, managing director of Oberthur Card Systems SEMEA-LA[1] Region.

The Exclusive Distributorship Agreement covers all Oberthur Card Systems' products in the following countries: South Africa, Angola, Botswana, Burundi, DRC (Democratic Republic of Congo), Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe and Zambia.
