Honeywell is involved in a long-term project to integrate all building management systems within the four buildings that comprise Sasol's companies in Rosebank using an Enterprise Buildings Integrator (EBI) solution.
EBI is a comprehensive set of tools to help building managers communicate with all the disciplines involved in the running of a building or group of buildings. Honeywell's EBI family offers full facility management using standard communication via local area network (LAN) and integrating such functions as fire detection, access control, CCTV and intruder detection, HVAC (heating, ventilation and airconditioning) control and monitoring, energy saving/management.
At Sasol, EBI is already used to operate the airconditioning systems via Honeywell XR500 controllers. The fire detection system, which is now analog addressable, will come on stream as soon as upgrades involving the buildings' interiors are complete.
Sitronix, Honeywell's technology partner, is handling the EBI installation at Sasol's companies in Rosebank.
