SAIS year end Christmas lunch

The South African Institute of Security held its traditional Christmas lunch on 26 November 2010 at J.P. Morgan in Johannesburg. The lunch included traditional turkey and Christmas pudding and was enjoyed by about 40 guests.

The guest speaker was Dr Johan Burger of the South African Institute of Security Studies who spoke on Combating Crime in South Africa. Dr Burger has recently been appointed to the reference group of the Minister of Police concerning crime prevention.

The patrons of the Institute Steve Conradie of SIA and Zonge Baloyi of SASSETA both delivered messages and good wishes to the Institute in their furthering of training in the Security Industry.

The new SAIS chairman, Errol Peace wished all members, friends and guests a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous 2011. He presented Rosemary Cowan, the SAIS administrative manager with a gift as a token of gratitude for all the hard work that she had put into the Institute during 2010.

Terry Scallan, the immediate past chairman presented the SAIS Certificate of Friendship to Isobel Bowden the SASSETA marketing manager.
