CDVI has acquired ievo, a UK-based manufacturer of biometric fingerprint solutions. ievo products extend and complement the existing CDVI range to include next-generation biometric technology.
The ievo ultimate reader is a CPNI-certified scanner which employs a multi-spectral imaging (MSI) sensor. Basic fingerprint scanners analyse only the top layer of skin on the fingertip (150 microns thick) to identify the print. Conversely, the MSI technology in the ievo ultimate captures images up to 4000 microns deep, reading both the surface and sub-surface layers of skin to capture clearer, cleaner images every time. This powerful technology means prints can still be scanned and identified even when they are hard to distinguish due to levels of dirt, moisture, or damage. Prints can even be read through some latex gloves, supporting a security system that benefits from both the increased security of biometrics and enhanced levels of hygiene.
Suitable for projects both large and small, the ultimate supports 1:N matching for up to 50 000 fingerprint templates when used with the ievo control board. For an added layer of protection, no user data is stored on the reader, reducing the risk of a security breach through vandalism or theft.
Rated to the IP65 standard and with additional built-in environmental controls, the ultimate is ideal for both internal and external installation.
