Dahua safe city solution

Issue 1 2020 Surveillance

Brienon-sur-Armançon is a city in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region of north-central France, with a population of about 3300. Located at the intersection of two rivers, Créanton and ‘Armançon, Brienon-sur-Armançon enjoys an advanced road network which is vulnerable to illegal activities. To make the city safer, the local government chose to secure its city and residents with Dahua’s Safe City Solution.

There were two pressing issues that needed to be addressed. Firstly, the city had only one policeman to look after the whole population. Secondly, Brienon-sur-Armançon had not prepared itself with necessary cables needed for modern surveillance systems, requiring the Dahua Team to design a tailored solution according to the unique local environment and limited human resources of this city.

To monitor major sections of the city, an array of devices were used, including Starlight IR PTZ AI network cameras, multi-sensor panoramic cameras, eyeball, thermal, ANPR cameras, wireless transmission devices, keyboards, etc. From the control centre in the police station, the police can check situations in real-time and decide whether to take action. This solution also aids them in obtaining video recordings that can be used as evidence.

General cameras were installed to monitor fixed scenes, once humans or vehicles trigger detection rules set by the operator (like tripwire and intrusion), the PTZ camera will automatically zoom-in and start tracking. For low-light applications, the Dahua Starlight Technology offers good light sensitivity, capturing colour details under ultra-low light conditions. Moreover, ANPR cameras were deployed for road safety enforcement on main roads; and thermal cameras took care of the job of monitoring the social sites in the park with their built-in fire detection functionality.
