New online training gives installers more options

1 December 2019 Training & Education

Paxton has launched an online training tool, easily accessible via its new website, offering installers more options and opportunities to enhance their skills anytime, anywhere.

Paxton is currently offering a free 30-day licence to new registrations (Paxton is offering new registrations a free 30-day licence if they sign up by 24th December. The 30 days will run from the day they are registered, after which a 12-month license is available to purchase). The online training comprises bite-sized modules arranged by product, covering Paxton’s access control and door entry ranges to give installers flexibility to learn. This means those unable to attend a training session can work through online classes at their own pace, or revisit modules to top-up their knowledge.

Global training manager, Steve Woodbridge, said: “More companies are offering online training courses to complement their face-to-face training. Providing more options for installers to complete Paxton training feeds into our company value of simplicity – enabling them to learn wherever they are and fit training into their schedule.

“Our face-to-face training programme continues to expand, providing more availability than ever before to attend a practical training session. For those that are unable to attend, our online training option means the installer will benefit from our 30-plus years of industry experience from wherever they are, whenever they choose.”

Paxton’s training team has ensured the online courses are interactive and engaging and include how-to videos, clear and concise text and interactive exercises. Designed with Paxton’s core value of simplicity in mind, the online training will test and build confidence and knowledge of Paxton systems.

The courses currently cover a range of products including Net2 software, an advanced PC based access control solution; Entry, a door entry system that works standalone or alongside Paxton’s Net2 access control; and PaxLock, the range of wireless access control solutions in a door handle.

Woodbridge said: “For our installers, especially in areas where we don’t currently offer training, this online tool will be really useful. I believe it will be an excellent way for us to continue to support our installers and build our presence globally.

“We know that nine out of 10 installers go on to regularly install Paxton products. This validates our belief that trained installers are confident fitting Paxton products and will choose them again and again for their customers. We can also be confident our products are being fitted to high standards which is key to an end-user’s experience.”

Paxton has been offering free installer training since 2005. Hands-on workshops are held at Paxton offices, as well as out in the field. With new products released regularly, the programme is constantly evolving.

Paxton’s online training is now available in the UK, South Africa and Middle East and will launch in other regions next year.
