Manage remote transmitters via GSM

November 2019 Access Control & Identity Management

There is now a novel way to set up and manage remote transmitters online and monitor access equipment via GSM. This, says ET Nice sales and marketing executive, Gerald Kirsten, is achieved through a partnership between ET Nice’s access automation technology and Accentronix’s Cloud 9 online GSM platform.

Kirsten explains that discussions with Accentronix resulted in a smart online management solution that seamlessly integrates traditional remote transmitters with GSM. The solution, the first of its kind, allows one to manage a residential complex from anywhere in the world via the cloud-based portal.

“The system uses a secure rolling code format and one doesn’t require a service provider to reprogram remote controllers, since one can manage the pairing from anywhere in the world. Each transaction will have a date stamp and log indicating which button has been pressed at a specific location.”

He points out that the system allows residential complex management to provide home owners and tenants with more definitive control over access to their property. A special ET Nice Accentronix receiver can be connected to any Cellswitch Infinity that enables the remote owner to have full control over all remotes. Features include logging, time-restricted access and adding or deleting of remotes.

“An example is that the remote owner can now provide domestic or casual workers with a transmitter that is programmed on the back-end for limited use. The ability is there to program in an instruction that requires an SMS to be sent for entry or exit requests from the transmitter holder each time they use the remote. If the domestic or casual worker leaves the employer, it is very easy to deactivate the transmitter.”

The GSM intercom will call directly to the home owner’s cellphone and the home owner can use their cell phone to open and close gates and garage doors. The GSM intercom, which is easily set up via the Internet, is housed in a high-quality 316 stainless steel enclosure for use in arduous environmental conditions.

In addition to providing ingress and egress control into properties, the system connects directly to the keypad data interface of all popular energisers for electric fence monitoring and control.

Security complex administrators will benefit from smart control, management and logging of up to 10 000 users and their transmitters from anywhere in the world, as well as the fully customisable management reporting and transaction logging. Multiple units can be linked online to simplify data management.
