Launched last year, Genie ICE is a cellphone based geolocation, emergency notification system. It differs from the scores of GPS applications currently available for download in that it seamlessly integrates into the alarm monitoring and armed response infrastructure of a security company.
The application, which is powered by ICE Plus, is free to download to any mobile phone or tablet, and works with either GPS (global positioning system) or LBS (location based services). In just two taps the app will send an alert message to Enforce’s control room, where operators will assess the nature of the emergency and then dispatch the appropriate response to exactly where it is needed.
This system is superior to other ‘speed dial’ driven panic buttons on offer as it gives a precise GPS location of the emergency. Furthermore, it is even available to residents contracted to other security companies or those without home alarm systems – such as in secure estates – at a nominal monthly fee.
