Comb Communications is no stranger to the residential estates access control market. With hundreds of installations throughout South Africa, the company was the first one to provide an intercom that contains an embedded SIM chip.
The MK II visitor entry access control solution is an access control system that is programmable via the secure Web application. By using an embedded SIM card, the product is impervious to tampering and theft of SIM cards.
Used in conjunction with this intercom, the company’s Tap-Tap system allows users to request an entry and exit PIN for their visitors by sending an SMS with the wording ‘TAP’ and the number of visitors to a MKII-S intercom system. The system will then send users the PIN for their visitors via SMS. This five-digit pin can then be forwarded to visitors for instant access. This solution is ideal for residential estates because, not only does it allow ease of access, but it also alleviates traffic jams.
Comb was thrilled to meet with a number of its existing clients at the event and leveraged the platform to introduce the system to prospective end users.
A 10-year symbiotic relationship with Centurion Systems has allowed the two companies to provide targeted access and visitor management to a wide array of estates, including Waterfin Estate, Waterkloof Boulevard, Forest Hill, Amberfield, Mooikloof Gardens, Bergerkruin, Constantia View, Dolphin Sands, Beacon Rock, Ferncrest and Banyon Tree.
Such is their faith in the system that ADT has standardised on the Comb system.
