The human face plays an important role in our social interaction, conveying people’s identity. As compared with other methods of biometric identification using fingerprint/palmprint and iris, face recognition has distinct advantages because of its non-contact identification process.
NEC’s face recognition technology, NeoFace, can be implemented as a functionally independent application, or be seamlessly integrated into new or existing security solutions by system integrators and solution providers.
NeoFace’s strength lies in its tolerance of poor quality images. With NeoFace’s proven ability to match against low resolution facial images, including images with resolutions as low as 24 pixels between the eyes, there is a large separation between NeoFace technology and all other face recognition systems matching accuracy in the market. While searching of latent fingerprints in crime scenes is the norm, NEC’s facial recognition technology can now positively identify latent photos with a high degree of accuracy.
