TeleEye to distribute Redwall products

CCTV Handbook 2014 Surveillance, Products & Solutions

The ability to provide a total security technology solution is a great advantage to companies competing in a market where silositis (the tendency to divisionalise everything) has passed its sell-by date. TeleEye has added to its basket of offerings with its appointment as a distributor of Optex’s Redwall, Redscan and Redfiber detection products.

Philip Smerkovitz, managing director of TeleEye, explains that the need to further enhance its perimeter and site protection solutions drove them to seek out a synergistic range of surveillance sensors and detectors.

There are 14 new IP detectors in the Redwall range, which includes Redwall passive infrared detectors, Redscan laser technology detector and Redfiber fibre optic sensors, all harnessing Optex’s proven infrared, laser and fibre optics technology. These detectors can be integrated with products from the major VMS providers and NVR manufacturers. In addition to improving the reliability of current perimeter protection systems and efficiency of alarm verification and management, they can also be used to control IP cameras for automatic tracking.

They have been designed to trigger genuine alarms by reducing the impact of environmental changes like light or temperature levels, or disturbances caused by insects.

Redwall series passive infrared detectors benefit from intelligent detection and passive infrared technology (PIR). PIR detectors generate an alarm signal when intruders enter into the detection area by judging the temperature difference in the detection area, temperature of the intruder and background temperature in the detection area. Redwall series is specially designed for CCTV systems to trigger a camera, network video recorder or video management software.

The Redwall series offers various volumetric detection area products for outdoor space protection from 30 metre wide angle to 100 metre long range. Each detector is equipped with five of Optex’s latest sensing technologies which offer reduction of false alarms, quick and reliable installation and protection from vandalism.

Redscan is Optex’s award-winning area laser sensor that covers a 30 metre radius detection area. Redscan detects target objects by emitting laser beams at the target and measuring the time required for the emitted beams to be reflected and returned to the detector. It can identify the size, speed and distance of a moving object and can function effectively as an invisible wall.

Redscan offers stable operation in extreme outdoor environments thanks to the algorithm developed by Optex from its experience as a market leader in external detection. The Redscan series is integrated with Milestone XProtect platforms and transmits the scanning information continuously to the VMS and triggers an alarm when intrusion occurs.

The Redfiber is a series of networked fibre optic sensor kits that can be mounted on a fence or in a wall to detect intrusion attempts. The Redfiber series use sophisticated algorithms to detect intruders who are attempting to climb over, crawl under, or cut through a perimeter line.
