Software -useful life cycle of 2 years

Technology is moving very quickly with the emphasis no longer on the hardware appliance only, but on the software that can deliver greater value. The benefit of having software that is not linked to the hardware is that the system can remain current and take advantage of technological innovation if required. An important consideration with regards to open platform software is the ability to add features or requirements that were not originally considered. That said, where requirements are basic there are many cost effective solutions that will remain adequate over time, however on complex sites it is recommended to look at some type of software maintenance plan.
