Cape Town estates gain access to advanced security technology at Securex

SMART Estate Security 2025 News & Events, Integrated Solutions

From 21 to 23 October 2025, the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) will host the Western Cape debut of four of South Africa’s most respected industry trade shows: Securex South Africa, A-OSH EXPO, Facilities Management Expo, and Firexpo. For the first time, estate and complex security decision-makers in the Western Cape will have direct access to the breadth of solutions and expertise these shows are synonymous with.

Why estates cannot afford to miss it

“The Western Cape’s residential estates, lifestyle villages, and retirement communities face a complex set of security demands. While the province may be perceived as having a lower crime rate than other regions, the reality is that targeted incidents such as perimeter breaches, vehicle theft, and cyber-enabled crime are on the rise. The growing sophistication of organised criminal networks means that outdated systems – whether physical or digital – are increasingly vulnerable,” says Mark Anderson, portfolio director at Montgomery Group Africa.

Securex South Africa brings together suppliers and integrators offering tested, reliable solutions for:

• Perimeter security: fencing, barriers, intrusion detection.

• Access control and visitor management: biometric systems, licence plate recognition, mobile-enabled passes.

• Surveillance: high-definition CCTV, AI analytics, cloud-based monitoring.

• Intrusion and alarms: integrated systems with rapid-response capability.

• Management platforms: centralised control of multi-layered security operations.

• Integration with operational systems: linking security with estate management and maintenance systems.

For estates, this means being able to evaluate and compare a wide range of systems side-by-side, engage directly with technical experts, and explore how solutions can be customised to suit their community’s unique needs.

Regional relevance: Western Cape focus

“Many Western Cape estates were designed with security in mind, but the pace of technological change means that systems installed even five years ago may now be obsolete or incompatible with modern, integrated platforms. Securex South Africa in Cape Town provides estate managers, security heads, and trustees with a chance to see the latest advancements, without having to travel to Johannesburg,” says Anderson.

The event will feature solutions suited to the region’s specific challenges, including:

• Integrating security and operational technology to improve efficiency without compromising safety.

• Cloud-based management platforms designed for estates with multiple access points.

• Energy-resilient systems capable of maintaining full functionality during loadshedding or unplanned power outages.

Benefits beyond product sourcing

Visiting Securex South Africa is not just about finding products; it is about gathering insights. The exhibitor line-up includes companies that can provide case studies, implementation roadmaps, and integration advice, helping estates make informed, future-proof decisions.

Estate managers will also be able to network with industry peers from across the province, exchanging ideas on best practices, risk mitigation, and achieving long-term operational efficiency. With many suppliers demonstrating live systems on the floor, visitors can experience real-world performance before committing to an investment.

Why visit all four shows?

While Securex South Africa is the primary destination for estate security professionals, the co-located shows offer additional value:

• A-OSH EXPO: insights into occupational safety, particularly relevant for estates managing maintenance teams and contractors.

• Facilities Management Expo: tools for managing estate infrastructure efficiently and sustainably.

• Firexpo: fire detection, suppression, and evacuation systems tailored to residential communities.

“By visiting all four shows in one trip, estates can explore a complete risk management and operational strategy, from preventing crime to ensuring safety and compliance,” says Anderson. “We encourage estate managers, trustees, security heads, and operations teams to register early to ensure smooth entry and plan their visit for maximum benefit.
