Nice SA has announced the release of MyNice Smartgo, a compact access automation solution, designed specifically for the South African market. Combining an easy-to-install device with a user-friendly smartphone application, MyNice Smartgo provides secure, intelligent access control directly on your smartphone.

MyNice Smartgo simplifies access automation for residential, commercial, and industrial users alike. The small, easy-to-install device connects via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to the MyNice Smartgo app, allowing multiple users to manage gate and garage door operators, whether from Nice or other brands, with just a few taps on their phones.

“At its simplest, MyNice Smartgo puts a gate or door remote on everyone's phone, but it offers so much more," says Gerald Kirsten, sales and marketing executive at Nice Systems South Africa.

The setup is straightforward: download the MyNice Smartgo app, register, and ‘claim’ the MyNice SmartGo device via a secure Bluetooth connection. Once the device is installed inside a gate motor (which has two inputs and two outputs), it allows users to fully open their main gate, partially open it for pedestrian access, or customise it to their unique needs.

MyNice Smartgo is more than just a digital gate remote. When paired with other Nice products, it unlocks a range of smart access features, including:

• Remote control via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.

• User and visitor management.

• Time-based access permissions.

• Real-time notifications on gate status, battery levels, and tampering alerts.

• Comprehensive access logs, all secured through encrypted data handling.

“MyNice Smartgo was developed and built in South Africa and is fully aligned with our Nice Blu Mix remote systems," Kirsten adds. "It integrates seamlessly into existing automation setups and gives administrators total control over who can access a property, and when."

The app enables authorised users to grant visitors temporary access either through a mobile download or by sharing a dedicated access link. Contract workers or guests can be granted entry only during specific times, and every access is logged for transparency.

For added value, the MyNice Smartgo includes softphone intercom functionality. With this upgrade, a printed QR code at an entrance allows visitors to video call residents or personnel directly through the app before access is granted. No additional intercom system required, simply scan and call.

Key features of MyNice Smartgo:

• Compatible with Nice and non-Nice gate motors.

• Secure setup via Bluetooth.

• Remote control from anywhere (Wi-Fi enabled).

• Time-based access control and visitor invites.

• Status and security alerts (power failure, low battery, tampering).

• New video call integration through softphone intercom.

• Supports up to 1000+ users via a scalable subscription model.

• Data encryption and detailed access logs.

The MyNice Smartgo is competitively priced, with service free for up to 10 users. For larger installations, scalable subscriptions are available:

• 11–30 users: R30/month or R330/year.

• 31–100 users: R55/month or R605/year.

• (Note: this is the total subscription fee, not per user.)

The app is available on all major platforms, including the iOS App Store, Google Play, and Huawei AppGallery, ensuring compatibility across nearly all mobile devices.

Whether you are managing a single household, a housing complex, or a business facility, MyNice Smartgo delivers modern, secure, and simple access automation in one compact device.
