Dahua Summit 2025

SMART Surveillance 2025 Products & Solutions

Dahua Technology South Africa held its annual summit, titled Integrated Intelligence, in Johannesburg in early April. The summit was attended by partners and customers, focusing on showcasing the company’s range of new products and solutions, as well as recognising its partners in the region.

Dahua South Africa’s GM, Bob Li, started proceedings by speaking about the company’s successful year in 2024, which saw growth both in South Africa and internationally. He also reminded partners that Dahua offers free training and that its showroom is available to assist in demonstrations to potential clients.

The first technology introduced on the day was Dahua’s WizColor, which combines AI-ISP, large pixel-size sensors, and a large aperture in cameras for recording better colour images in almost total darkness, while minimising motion blur. WizColor cameras are built with an F1.0 aperture, which captures 2,5 times the amount of light of devices with smaller apertures. The larger pixel sensors (2,9 μm) can receive more light and, therefore, deliver bright colour images with lower noise. The AI-ISP chip offers a 40% increase in visual model processing, while consuming 30% less power.

Next up were MultiVision cameras. These cameras increase the surveillance coverage area by integrating multiple cameras, including a PTZ for tracking people or vehicles, into a single device. Users can set up different AI analytics on each lens or use the same AI for all lenses. The addition of a PTX means operators can keep an eye on the whole area under observation, while focusing or zooming in on a particular event or person.

AccuPick 2.0 was also highlighted as a newly upgraded product. AccuPick is a video search engine that can find people or objects in a building, for example, by describing what the user is looking for (e.g., a man with a red shirt and black trousers). More importantly, it can also find the path someone took through a building over time, allowing operators to see where someone has been as well as where they currently are. AcuPick 2.0 supports several types of search targets: humans, vehicles, faces, and animals.

The Eureka series of thermal network cameras includes various AI functions (tripwire, intrusion, call detection, smoking detection, and heat detection). It is equipped with AI to reduce false alarms caused by cats, dogs, leaves, and other non-threatening objects that can often raise an alert in control rooms. Users can combine different rules in the new series and determine the response required when different objects are detected. It also features anti-solar reflection false alarm reduction functionality.

Wi-Fi cameras and access control

New indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi cameras are also available from Dahua, once again with AI enhancements on some series that allow object tracking. The ranges on offer include the Hero, Cube, Turret, Bullet, and Picoo series. Picoo and Bullet cameras are designed for outdoor use, while the Hero, Cube, and Turret are primarily indoor cameras. Depending on the camera chosen, AI tracking, audio, full-colour images (including night modes), and alarm notifications are available to keep users safe. Some of the Hero series, for example, offers 360-degree monitoring without blind spots.

Dahua also has a complete access control range of products, the FACT series. FACT stands for fast, accurate, convenient and trusted. Facial recognition speeds average at 0,3 seconds per person, with 99,5% accuracy and the ability to adapt to harsh environments. Convenience is found in the multiple modes of touchless access (facial, fingerprint, card or QR code), diverse installation options and accessibility through numerous management interfaces. The FACT series is equipped with an anti-spoofing algorithm to protect companies against photo and video attacks on their face biometrics devices, preventing the wrong people with nefarious intentions from gaining entry.

Above everything else, Dahua has various display options, from LCD monitors and video walls to LED displays, plus the accessories required to make it all work together. It also offers a range of whiteboards for meetings and education requirements that can operate in local, remote and hybrid modes. For example, remote attendees in a meeting can collaborate on the same whiteboard.

A cloud ecosystem

Dahua also introduced DoLynk Cloud, an AIoT platform, which integrates devices, services, and tools in a centralised framework. DoLynk provides partners with a unified cloud ecosystem with seamless connectivity and centralised (or remote) access.

DoLynk Care offers device lifecycle management to ensure optimal system performance. This function allows users to monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot devices remotely in real time. It includes features such as predictive analytics, automated maintenance reminders, and detailed performance reports. Partners and users can proactively use Care to address potential issues and avoid downtime, all via a cloud interface.

Naturally, DMSS (Dahua Mobile Surveillance System) is available as a mobile application for remote monitoring and control. DMSS offers live video streaming, instant notifications, playback options, and smart event management.

• Reditron

• Security Warehouse

• Stafix

Dahua’s presented its DSP Awards to:
