Suprema’s latest multi-modal access terminals featuring biometrics, mobile access, and RFID are the BioStation 2a (fingerprint recognition), BioStation 3 (in its fusion face range), which also supports intercom and QR codes, and BioEntry W3, a new slim, high-performance mullion-mount face reader being released in September.
These latest terminals are powered by an AI processor – the NPU (Neural Processing Unit)- ensuring lightning-fast and precise biometric recognition. They have the capacity for a large number of users and are, as per Suprema’s default, designed to comply with GDPR/POPIA, some of the strictest privacy regulations.
Couple these terminals with BioStar 2, Suprema’s open web-based security management platform, and Estate Managers have the perfect tool for managing access rights and administering system functions through the detailed dashboard. All sensitive data is encrypted and managed in compliance with GDPR/POPIA regulations. Face implementations offer residential owners themselves an array of benefits, such as video intercom and portrait logging (BioStation 3), remote door opening, and mobile visitor face enrolment with streamlined and controlled access.
BioStar 2 also features a visitor management module, alarm notifications, remote access and monitoring, as well as a video module for seamless integration of surveillance systems and access control.
i-Visit visitor management solution, locally developed by neaMetrics for Suprema terminals, provides residents with the means to manage their visitor’s access with functions including planning visits, configuring the validity of the access PIN, QR code or biometrics, and the type of visitor it may be; placing accountability in their hands.
Additionally, Suprema offers a wide range of access control and time attendance devices, which can be mixed and matched to provide the most cost-effective and appropriate level of security at each entrance.
Proper planning is required when selecting terminals for the access control system into gated communities because it should provide for more than just residents entering the premises, catering for pedestrians, visitors, collections and deliveries, employees and maintenance and repair contractors, with the same system being used to record time & attendance for permanent estate staff. Access control terminals can also be put to good use to ensure that only authorised users can gain access to facilities such as gyms, padel courts, swimming pools and laundry facilities.
