Entries to southern Africa OSPA Awards now open

February 2024 Editor's Choice, News & Events

Entry to the 2024 Southern Africa Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs) is now open. The Southern Africa OSPAs are part of a global awards scheme and serve to recognise and reward teams, individuals and organisations for their commitment and outstanding performance within the security sector. The awards are designed to be independent, credible, transparent and respectable; and anyone can enter.

The OSPAs are designed to be independent and inclusive, allowing outstanding performers, whether buyers or suppliers, to be recognised and their success to be celebrated. The criteria for these awards are based on extensive research on key factors that contribute to and characterise outstanding. The OSPAs are set up in collaboration with security associations and groups across many countries.

This year, entries will be accepted from anyone providing a product or service in Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kingdom of Eswatini, Kingdom of Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Another exciting new development for this year’s awards is the inclusion of several new categories that will qualify winners to participate in the first Global OSPAs scheduled to take place in 2025. Winners of these categories will automatically be entered into the Global OSPAs.

Entries for the Southern Africa OSPAs are open until the 4th of April, and nominations are invited in the following categories:

• Outstanding In-House Security Manager/Director.

• Outstanding Contract Security Manager/Director.

• Outstanding Security Team.

• Outstanding Contract Security Company (Guarding).

• Outstanding Security Consultant.

• Outstanding Security Partnership.

• Outstanding Security Officer.

• Outstanding Female Security Professional.

• Outstanding Young Security Professional.

Winners in the three categories open in 2023 were:

• Outstanding Security Installer/Integrator – Olarm.

• Outstanding New Security Product – CathexisVision Carbon – Cathexis Technologies.

• Outstanding Security Equipment Manufacturer – Paxton.

Entry is free, and nominations are invited on https://za.theospas.com/enter/
