Yale has released its latest smart home device designed to bring convenience and security to entrance points within consumers’ homes. The Smart Gate and Garage Opener allows consumers to control and monitor gates and garage doors that have already been fitted with automation devices via the Yale Home app on their smartphone.
As the latest addition to the Yale Home range consisting of the Linus Smart Lock, the Smart Gate and Garage Opener is aligned with the brand’s ambition to create a single-app use experience for all its upcoming smart home products.
Easy to install, the Yale Smart Gate and Garage Opener is compact and designed to provide users with seamless access to gates and garages from their smartphone. The product allows consumers to open and close gates and garage doors as they approach or leave without keeping track of a remote. Customers will receive a notification if someone opens or closes the gate or garage door and can check their access history at any time through the activity log on the Yale Home app, providing users with peace of mind that any cars, bikes, mowers, sports equipment, garden tools, or other expensive items stored in their garage are secure.
Users can grant permanent or temporary access remotely using a code or virtual key to family, friends, or trusted service providers on the Yale Home app. The addition of a Smart Keypad is also helpful for providing friends and trusted service providers access in and out of any gates or garages without the need to use the app. For example, instead of waiting at home all day to ensure a parcel gets delivered, users can grant access to delivery drivers by providing them with a PIN code, allowing them to drop off packages in their yard and relax knowing that any parcels will be waiting for them in a secure location when they return.
The smart openers are designed to work with voice assistants like Google Assistant, enabling users to open and close their gates and garage doors for guests through voice commands for additional convenience.
Thanks to in-built Wi-Fi, users can benefit from remote functionalities, such as opening and closing the door from anywhere or granting remote access using codes or virtual keys. So, if customers were on holiday, a friend or family member could easily get inside and check on the house thanks to scheduled access that can be cancelled at any time. Consumers can also monitor their garage and gate access via the app for peace of mind, including any unwanted access.
While garages and gates can be controlled with the new openers, Yale Smart Locks, such as Linus, can manage the front or back door, creating a one-app user experience that brings convenience and flexibility to consumers’ lives. Providing customers with the ability to set up a user to have access to their garage, gate, and front and back door, all using the same code or virtual key, and then revoke access for all at once, if needed, to help run their homes more smoothly.
