Forge Academy & Labs unveiled a new 4IR laboratory in Johannesburg that boasts the latest 5G, VR, robotic, and learning technology. The new laboratory was officially launched 13 July in Northriding, Gauteng and is one of the only facilities in the country that allows for complete immersion in 4IR education.
The new Forge Academy & Labs facility includes lecture rooms, offices and expansive floor space with the latest tech for students to experience. The facility equips students for participation, employment and entrepreneurship in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
“We have grown in leaps and bounds since opening our first venue in 2020. With our incredible partners, this unveiling signals our growing contribution to youth development and digital transformation in South Africa and Africa. We are proud of this milestone and our dedicated students’ unwavering pursuit of learning and growing,” said Forge Academy & Labs Cofounder, Craig Clutty.
The unveiling of the Northriding Forge Academy & Labs facility was attended by VIP guests, tech gurus, entrepreneurs, members of the media and ICT industry heavyweights. Also in attendance were highly regarded representatives from the office of the MEC of the Gauteng Education Department and esteemed dignitaries from the Embassy of Finland.
Entertainment included keynote speeches on the latest industry trends and impressive and immersive technology demonstrations. It was a morning of collaboration, networking, and celebration.
“With students receiving qualifications through our Forge Academy & Labs training programmes, we have produced coders, AWS practitioners, entrepreneurs, marketers and well-rounded, employable candidates fit for future marketplaces of the world,” said Forge Academy & Labs CEO, Arthur Wade Anderson.
