Trustmatic, a provider of secure identity verification technology, announced the release of its cloud-based Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS) to bring government-grade face biometric capabilities to enterprises of all sizes.
Trustmatic’s Cloud ABIS brings a new dimension to remote identity verification applications which, until now, focused solely on verifying a user’s selfie image against their identity document portrait picture. With Cloud ABIS, organisations can search faces captured during onboarding against existing user face images to find duplicates, known fraudsters or other excluded users.
Many banks, telcos and other enterprises enrolled the majority of their users before modern and secure KYC processes were put in place. However, most of them don’t use this data to add an additional layer of security to their identity verification processes.
Trustmatic has already rolled out Cloud ABIS in a pilot project in Latin America, and early feedback proves the significant added value, as CEO Donal Greene explains: “Working with our customer, the first thing we did was audit their existing face database of approximately 1 million users. We found that 1% of their existing users were either duplicates or had enrolled using a face presentation attack. Within a week, we were able to produce a report and our customer deactivated the accounts of these users.”
As part of the launch of Cloud ABIS, Trustmatic is offering a free database audit to organisations with existing face databases. The audit will identify duplicate faces and faces which were enrolled using presentation attacks. Organisations interested in availing of this offer can contact [email protected] for further information.
