AI is driving people management

Issue 7 2021 Access Control & Identity Management

Artificial intelligence (AI) and analytics has now become synonymous with high-tech security. Many companies are using this technology as the mainstay of their security and people management strategies. Dormakaba’s Entrivo solution demonstrates how IOT has revolutionised access control.

Entrivo is a digital IOT service for automatic door operators which provides full view of the operating and performance information of the connected doors from any location.

The solution allows data to be retrieved via the cloud, transferred securely and stored. This makes it possible and much easier to access remote monitoring of large or decentralised door systems, for example.

Clients can use Entrivo at any time to determine whether:

A door is opened or closed.

• A fire alarm has been triggered.

• The door is defective.

• When a door requires maintenance.

In addition, Entrivo allows recording and retrieval of entrance and exit usage trends. All this can be done either by means of a dormakaba portal or direct API access, which enables integration into your own monitoring systems.

Little touch, lower cost

The ongoing trend in today’s market is to use technology that is easily integrated, fully automated, promotes zero-touch and is cost-effective to implement and manage. dormakaba says there is an increasing world-wide trend where businesses seek intelligent, connected options to improve efficiencies and keep costs down. The innovative dormakaba Entrivo Connected Door Solution offers exactly that, together with delivering a unique, reliable and robust approach to the future of automatic doors.

Entrivo makes your dormakaba ES200 HD automatic doors cloud-ready so that data can be received and distributed as required. Entrivo is specifically designed for the ES200 HD Automatic Door Controller. It mounts inside the fascia of the unit and allows data to be transmitted from the door.

Entrivo data can be incorporated into an existing building interface, or visible via a dormakaba app. The company underlines the key features of the solution – the Entrivo IOT connector provides always-on connectivity to the ES200 HD door operator that allows telemetry data to be collected and notification of critical issues.

After commissioning, the Entrivo is cloud-ready and can securely stream door data to its digital twin. dormakaba’s Entrivo epitomises the dominance of analytics, IOT and AI in security and access control.
