Newly released by Ajax and soon available from Elvey, the MotionCam Outdoor and DualCurtain Outdoor offer homes and businesses solutions that detect and deter criminals before they can gain entry into buildings.
The MotionCam Outdoor recognises intrusion and confirms it with a series of animated photos. Visual verification helps to instantly ascertain the situation, saving users from concerns and security companies from unnecessary patrol dispatches.
To take one photo, MotionCam Outdoor takes two consecutive shots at long and short exposures. The processor instantly combines the shots, equalising the balance between light and dark areas of the image and then compresses it for the fastest transmission.
MotionCam Outdoor is equipped with two independent PIR sensors, the signals of which are analysed by a two-step LISA algorithm. When both sensors detect motion, LISA performs correlation and spectral analysis of the signals, which helps to instantly distinguish real threats from interferences.
It will take the hub less than a minute to detect the loss of communication with the detector and inform a central monitoring station and users about the problem. The unit includes tamper protection that will notify the user or monitoring company within minutes.
The MotionCam Outdoor can be installed in temperatures ranging from -25°C to +60°C and is IP55-rated, offering protection from extreme weather conditions. It uses two secure radio protocols simultaneously: Jeweller and Wings. Radio protocols work independently of each other and each is focused on its function. Jeweller transmits alarms in 0,15 seconds and thanks to Wings, the first signal from the site will notify the end user in less than 9 seconds, depending on the user’s signal strength.
Wireless outdoor bidirectional curtain motion detector
DualCurtain Outdoor protects the property perimeter without creating obstacles for residents who are already inside the property. Two independent optical systems with narrow viewing sectors and flexible settings allow users to accurately select 30 metres of detection area, excluding possible sources of false alarms. The ELSA software reacts to intruders, screening out triggers like natural interferences and pets.
On the sides of the detector there are two optical systems with narrow viewing sectors, each equipped with two PIR sensors. Temperature compensation makes the detection pattern more stable. Sensor signals are analysed by Ajax’s new ELSA digital algorithm. Only if two sensors of the same optical system simultaneously capture human motion will the detector activate an alarm.
DualCurtain Outdoor features a technology to expand the protected area, which is unique among outdoor curtain motion detectors. When Near Area Detection is enabled, the detector’s upper PIR sensor receives an additional narrow viewing sector directed at the angle of 40° down against the main sector. The feature allows both sensors to detect movement when a human crosses the protected perimeter close to the detector’s body, addressing the common problem of blind spots.
Near Area Detection is designed to protect windows and other passages that animals do not have access to. The proximity of the detection zones’ vectors significantly reduces the efficiency of pet alarm immunity.
DualCurtain Outdoor, in a disarmed state, cannot be masked. The unit’s advanced anti-masking sensors will detect if any of its optical systems are covered, painted, or blocked.
Due to its low energy consumption, DualCurtain Outdoor operates for years from pre-installed batteries. A monitoring station and users will be notified of any low battery conditions.
