Black Point Tech continues the tradition

Issue 2 2021 News & Events

Black Point Tech, trading as BPT, is a new company that inherits the history of others that, in the past, have distributed solutions in the fields of intercom systems, parking management as well as general access control solutions like automatic bollards and turnstiles manufactured by the Italian company BPT, which later became the CAME Group.

Ozak turnstile.

The South African story goes back to 1968 when the TRI was founded and became the importer of BPT, which was a company specialising in the design and production of the first ‘technological’ domestic devices, such as the back-lit doorbells, audio entry panels and many others.

Since 1968, BPT products have found their way into thousands of households, buildings and complexes.

The company’s longevity is a testament to the quality of its products as well as its skilled, friendly sales and technical support. BPT products cover two broad areas of application:

Residential or small to medium business applications.

• Commercial applications. These are solutions which include audio and video intercoms on IP platforms. The IP360 system surpasses traditional video-entry systems, making distances, the number of devices that can be connected, network size and simultaneous audio and video calls practically unlimited.

Research, design, development, production and service are all 100% Italian, with an eye to the specific needs of the South African environment. The BPT offering is completed by other companies belonging to CAME Group.

Urbaco is the company that invented the retractable bollards.

• Parkare is among the market leaders in the parking and mobility solutions space. It is one of the very few actors capable of offering solutions at the same time for ‘on-street’ (parking meters) and in the ‘off-street’ (park solutions, car park guidance systems, control and management software) sections of the market.

Ozak is another leader in access control solutions and specialises in the production of turnstiles for access control and bollards for urban control and high security.

While the company may be new, the people behind CAME BPT are still on board to offer the same products and services the market has come to associate with the BPT and CAME brands.
