Pinnsec and Impro sign distribution agreement

1 September 2020 News & Events

Pinnsec has announced the signing of an agreement with Impro Technologies to distribute Impro products and services in South Africa. The deal will see Impro’s full range of access control software, controllers, readers and credentials being sold through both Pinnsec and Pinnacle ICT.

Pinnsec verticals director, Donovan Dercksen, said, “Impro is a well-known brand in the access control market and, through the expansion of our Pinnsec security offering, we wanted to incorporate class-leading access control products. We feel there is a strong synergy of values between the two companies given our similar focus on technology and innovation. As part of Pinnacle’s array of ICT products, we have a well-established footprint in the tech sector and, with the increased integration of both physical and logical access control, we are now perfectly placed to address this growing market need.

“With 27 years of experience distributing integrated electronic solutions to our customers in the southern African region, Pinnsec’s portfolio features a rich mix of leading brands, all of whom offer innovative hardware, networking and cloud solutions. Furthermore, the company provides substantial support with a strong team of qualified sales and technical services, as well as reliable distribution operations.”

Giles Calenborne, managing director of Impro Technologies, said, “As a global access control brand, we felt there is the opportunity to expand our access control offer into new segments within South Africa that are not serviced through existing channels. We wanted to work with a distributor that was highly focused and experienced within the tech space and feel Pinnsec is a good choice of strategic partner to leverage our full sales potential in this new segment – not just because of their knowledge of the sector, but also through their shared commitment to delivering quality solutions to customers throughout the region.

“Pinnsec’s network will certainly further enhance our market penetration in South Africa and we look forward to a fruitful and impactful business relationship.”
