Streamlined access and reporting

Comb Communications was another repeat sponsor at this year’s Residential Estate Security Conference. Comb CEO, Graham Wild, noted that the conference was well organised, with all communications with regards to setup and requests for delegate bag-insertion done timeously and within reasonable time frames. He went on to say that the registration was simple and efficient, the venue layout conducive to the purpose, and the catering of high quality.

Of importance to the sponsors, Wild said, “The interactions during tea and lunch breaks were informative (for us to understand the specific needs and challenges facing the residential estate market), and of great value for delegates to interact with our product range, see, touch and experience the system on a practical level. The time allocation allowed for fruitful interactions, as the breaks were substantially longer than previous years.”

The main focus of the Comb stand was its practical demonstration of the MK II Lite intercom system with third-party integrated products (like the vehicle scanner). In addition, the company was able to demonstrate the use of the Comb Portal, on which the intercom user interface is managed.

“The MK II Lite system is the latest GSM visitor access management system, allowing immediate updates, changes to resident details and remote site management from the Comb Portal,” Wild explained. “The robust reporting functionality on a security management level received a lot of attention as the third-party products are hosted in the SME environment, allowing a single point of auditable focus on incident management.”

As for future developments in this market, Comb is embarking on a drive to integrate additional biometric readers into its third-party product offering, allowing clients the freedom of both functional and aesthetic choice. “In addition,” says Wild, “the year will be ending with the introduction of the Comb Access App, allowing residents to manage their visitor access with greater ease, and providing residential estates with the ability to interact with their residents, live and swiftly.”
