Hot on the heels of the company changing hands, XtraVision, a distributor of electronic security and fire solutions in Africa and South America, has relocated from its old premises in Bedfordview to Kempton Park. Its new address is Unit 1 Aviation Park, 18 Pomona Road, Kempton Park.
Theuns van Schalkwyk, technical director of the company, explains that the move was made for a number of reasons. The new location reduces the traffic burden on employees and clients when coming to the office, in many cases cutting up to 60 km per day out of some employees’ daily commute.
Van Schalkwyk says another reason for the move is being able to have more warehouse space for the products XtraVision represents, as well as for the new products it is brining to its African customers.
Highlighting some of the new brands on board, XtraVision’s managing director, Nick Grange, says the company has sealed the distribution rights for the Hochiki brand of fire and safety products and it has fulfilled all the registration requirements at the South African Qualification and Certification Committee – Fire (SAQCC), as well as the Fire Detection Installers Association (FDIA). Furthermore, he adds that the company has an in-house fire and safety designer and commissioner to support its partners in their project work.
XtraVision has also added a licence plate recognition (LPR) edge solution from FF_Group to its portfolio. This solution is capable of high-speed recognition as well as parking management applications. It currently runs on Hanwha’s WiseNet IP cameras as well as the WiseNet VMS and the Arteco management platform (XtraVision distributes WiseNet and Arteco).
To supplement its perimeter solutions from Electromesh, the company has recently also added perimeter solutions from Italy’s CIAS. In addition, Grange says the Heitel and AdPro brands from Honeywell are still in XtraVision’s portfolio and are selling well in South Africa.
