Available for Cardax FT Series 3 and Series 5 systems, the Cardax FT Intelligent Door Terminal provides the site with many features, to facilitate effective and user-friendly access control. These include:

* The intercom functionality enables communication between cardholder and operator, with intercom events being logged by the system.

* The Cardax FT IDT is a card plus PIN reader, and has a back-lit dot-matrix LCD, enabling prompts, time and date, and feedback to be displayed on the screen.

* Intruder alarms can be set and unset by authorised cardholders using the Cardax FT IDT.

* The reader has the ability to accept future software upgrades over the network.

The Cardax FT IDT (125 Series) supports the 125 kHz proximity cards and transponders, and reads both Cardax proprietary format and a variety of third-party Wiegand-based formats. Cardax primarily supports its own proprietary format, using amplitude shift keying (ASK) modulation. Phase shift keying (PSK) and frequency shift keying (FSK) are used for reading other selected third party formats.

Any number of the supported card formats may be active concurrently within the system. This complete flexibility means it is possible for a site to integrate the use of Cardax proprietary cards alongside existing third-party cards. The Cardax Prox and Prox Plus readers are also now both available in 125 technology.
