Cross Point, based in The Netherlands, has introduced XM3 - a new access control concept based on standalone proximity readers which can be networked, thereby creating a system of up to 32 networked standalone readers.
The readers support worldwide RFID standards such as EM Marin, HID, MIFARE and Microchip. Set-up and maintenance is done via the free-of-charge supplied XM3 manage software. Cross Point/EM Marin 125 kHz tags can be read as a standard by the XM3 reader, while other RFID formats can be read by using an on-board module addition to make the XM3 reader dual technology.
Cross Point is currently looking for representation in South Africa and other parts of Africa.
