Philips' Hi-Q four-channel digital video recorder is capable of recording four channels simultaneously in realtime.

The Hi-Q uses advanced MPEG2 compression with true DVD quality video recording and its four independent video channels can all be programmed separately for recording speed, image quality, motion detection, alarms, etc. This provides a flexible solution to digital recording, alarm or spot monitoring to any system, including existing CCTV systems using analog monitors.

It uses a realtime embedded operating system, which does not require a PC for operation, and all Hi-Q functions are controlled from the front panel; no additional software or keyboard are needed.
