Kabul Embassy protected by portable barriers

With the reopening of the United States Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, security personnel have implemented Delta Scientific's IP500 portable barrier systems to protect entrances from unauthorised vehicles. Able to be deployed or relocated for full manual or automatic operation within hours, the IP500 Barrier can stop and destroy a 6800 kg truck travelling at 48 km/h in less than 206 m.

"Since 9-11, the need for easy-to-install, temporary, drop-arm beam barriers to quickly block entrances to embassies or roads to embassies is a critical program of the United States Department of State," explains David Dickinson, Delta Scientific senior vice president.

In the US, Delta has secured over 110 federal buildings, including courthouses and FBI locations, since the Oklahoma City bombing in April 1995.
