Cape Town-based gas safety specialist company SureGas has made significant inroads locally and internationally with its South African-designed and manufactured gas leak detection and alarm system.
SureGas' in-line gas flow detection and atmospheric gas leak detection solution, developed in conjunction with the University of Cape Town, the Cape Technikon and engineering consultants, was recently installed at the South African Navy's Maritime Fire Fighting Training Unit at Simon's Town near Cape Town, and Old Mutual Properties' R1,4 bn mega-mall, Gateway, near Durban. Also, as part of its global strategy, SureGas has sold its equipment to Coca-Cola in Australia, and via an exclusive distribution pact with Tradelink, an Australian supplier to the building and plumbing trades, SureGas is now more widely available Down Under.
Future plans for SureGas focus primarily on international expansion. ISO 9002 quality-assurance certification is a strategic objective for the company, which can already boast of endorsement by numerous official bodies and organisations in the gas industry including the South African LP Gas Association, Fire Prevention Association and the SA insurance industry.
