Assa Abloy, manufacturers of well-known brands Yale, Union, Solid and Esco, has signed up as a member of Proudly South African, the campaign aimed at stimulating job creation and economic growth by encouraging demand for local products and services.
"The Proudly South African logo will be used to endorse a range of consumer products sold in SA and exported to Africa," says Assa Abloy director of new business development, Philip Caveney. "It will appear on the packaging and will be recognised as a mark of reassurance that the product is of the highest quality."
Assa Abloy, an international organisation involving over 120 companies in 30 countries, has three factories operating in South Africa employing over 900 people in total. In compliance with Proudly South African membership requirements, the company is ISO: 9001 listed, adheres to South African environmental standards and is striving towards ISO: 14001 accreditation.
