IDEMIA, the security and identity management company has announced that Ingo Mutinelli will be taking on the post of regional sales director for the southern Africa region. Mutinelli will replace Nicolas Garcia, who has been promoted to head up the Biometric Terminals Business Line, Middle East and Africa (MEA) region for IDEMIA.
Garcia says IDEMIA has targeted Africa as a market ripe for growth. To better serve the market, a new region has been created under the IDEMIA MEA banner. This region will be divided into three zones: The Middle East and Northern Africa region, the West-to-East Africa region, and the southern Africa region, which will he headed by Mutinelli. Garcia says creating three business zones was necessary to allow the respective regional leaders to devote the required time and effort to their regions and provide premium service to clients.
He adds that IDEMIA conducted a long search for the right person to head up the southern Africa region. Mutinelli was identified as the right candidate because he not only had the qualifications, experience and skills IDEMIA required, but Garcia says his personality is also a good fit with the company’s culture.
Mutinelli says he looks forward to the challenge of expanding IDEMIA’s business in southern Africa, a region that is on the cusp of adopting biometrics as a standard mechanism for securing identities. With the world’s leading biometric technology, he sees tremendous opportunities ahead.
Mutinelli stepped into his new IDEMIA shoes at the start of July 2019 and will use IDEMIA’s offices in Johannesburg as his base of operations.
