A new Wave in infrared safety beams

1 June 2019 Access Control & Identity Management

The new Wave wireless transmitter safety beams provide a new dimension in personal and vehicle safety when exiting and entering properties. Feedback from the market has resulted in a new breed of safety beams for the ultimate in user friendliness and functionality.

“These are no ordinary safety beams,” says ET Nice sales and marketing executive, Gerald Kirsten. “Not only do the Wave beams provide the normal protection required to prevent injury to pedestrian and vehicular traffic passing through motorised gates but, they also have a built-in LED courtesy light which is activated when the homeowner passes between the beams.”

Kirsten explains that by connecting it to one’s ET Nice Drive gate operators, the LED light will provide a visual, flashing, alarm when the gate operator needs attention or service. This allows for improved, proactive maintenance, thereby enhancing overall safety and security. “Many of the current luxury vehicles are virtually soundproof, so audible alarms are not always apparent. The flashing light scenario will eliminate this problem.”

The Wave transmitter beams are easy to install, saving time and money. The mechanical tilt alignment features, with the tilting lenses able to pivot 32° in a 270° angle (top to bottom and left to right), mean that there is no longer a need for parallel mounting surfaces. In addition, the transmitter is battery-operated, so there is no need to lay cabling across driveways. Dip-switch selectable multiple beam setup is made possible through two independent channels, to prevent cross talk.

“We believe that the stylish weatherproof design, combined with the easy installation and benefits provided by the incorporated LED light, will make the Wave wireless transmitter safety beams a certain favourite with homeowners. Our team can devise various combination of the Wave safety beams together with ET Nice and third-party gate operators, garage door operators, other access technology and alarm systems for maximised safety and security,” says Kirsten.
