The South African branch of TAPA (Transported Asset Protection Association) will be holding its annual conference at Emperor’s Palace, Gauteng on 26 July 2019. The theme of this year’s event is ‘A Layered Security Approach to Cargo Protection’ and will feature a cross-section of speakers who are respected specialists in their particular fields.
The presentation given by Massimo Carelle will be based on security principles using a layered approach. His talk will touch on each layer in the process, and will dovetail with the TAPA standards which also use a layered approach.
Carelle serves on the committee of the TAPA South Africa working group, having built up experience over 20 years working in the security industry. Now specialising in security risk management, he was selected as one of the first certified TAPA trainers for South Africa and also sits as an advisor on the TAPA EMEA standards committee.
He has also been selected to sit on the ESIA (Electronic Security Industry Alliance) interim committee spearheaded by PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority) to formalise the training programme for all security technicians.
