It’s time to recognise and thank the women in the security industry for their unrelenting efforts to keep this dynamic and multifaceted industry moving in support of the people of South Africa.
Whether it's running a company, organising the logistics of security patrols, designing and developing technology, making sure customers are happy, or physically guarding people and assets, women play a significant role in all aspects of the security industry.
And since August is women's month, the Electronic Security Distributors' Association (ESDA) in cooperation with the South African Intruder Detection Services Association (SAIDSA) have decided this is the perfect time to recognise, celebrate and honour the women in the industry by giving them an afternoon of fun and entertainment, while supporting a worthwhile charity at the same time. The celebration will be in the form of a high tea held on the afternoon of 3 August 2018 at the La Vie en Rose in Johannesburg. The event will include short presentations as well as music to set the tone for a relaxing and fun-filled event.
Send your security ladies to join the celebration and enjoy a little bit of serious and a lot of fun in an afternoon of information, conversation and plenty of gifts and giveaways. The proceeds of the event will go to Cornerstone Women, a non-profit organisation that was established by a group of women passionate about helping other women to overcome the effects of abuse and establishing a route to recovery for the family unit.
The mission of CSW (Cornerstone Women) is to provide abused women with the ability to change their story to an empowered, successful one whilst upholding the company’s principles and beliefs. The vision is to “change the world by stopping the cycle of abuse, one woman at a time”.
Companies wishing to sponsor the event will receive exposure at the event in return for their contribution as well as on the associations’ respective websites and social media platforms, both leading up to and after the event.
CSW is registered as a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) by the TAX Exemption Unit (TEU) with SARS in terms of section 18(a) of the Income Tax Act, 1962, and therefore able to provide sponsors with tax benefits applicable to the act.
Companies and individuals are invited to book their security ladies a place at the industry's first celebration honouring its feminine side. Tickets cost only R350 and are tax deductible as a charitable donation. Don’t delay.
The women’s month celebration is open to all ladies in the security industry and companies are encouraged to recognise the contributions their female employees make to the industry by sending them to a special event honouring them and the important role they play in South Africa’s safety and security.
