TVT has announced the release of the latest version of its NVMS-1000 Central Management Software. The new version incorporates a completely new architecture, new user interface and refined functionality over previous versions of the management platform.
TVT is imported solely by Forbatt SA for its partners and the company’s representative, Gino de Oliveira says the NVMS-1000 is the result of two years of work focused on refining and improving on TVT’s previous management platform. The NVMS-1000 inherits the stability of its predecessors as well as the modular approach which has stood TVT in good stead with users and integrators over the years.
However, the improvements mean that the NVMS-1000 takes the whole management function further. For example, the NVMS-1000 is now able to control 256 devices without any negative impact on the system or its operations. Operators won’t feel any slowdown in performance whether they are managing one device or 256, subject to bandwidth and PC specifications.
Some of the user interface enhancements include dynamic tabs, which make it easier for users to customise the layout of their monitor, or multiple monitors, in a way that best meets their requirements. Live preview, video playback, E-map, log management, device management and device synchronous playback etc. can all be set as independent tabs that are easily accessible across multiple monitors.
The preview window has an embedded toolbar and right-clicking menu options for easy and fast access to snapshots, manual recording, talkback, PTZ control, monitor point configuration and more, while requiring limited mouse movement. The right-click menu provides master and sub streams for the various options enabled in each window. The system also adapts its tree view control to the devices it is managing.
When adding devices to the management system, operators are able to configure their devices both locally and remotely. Functions the operator can configure include the recording schedule, image setting, alarm output and so forth. Another benefit for TVT users is that the new version NVMS 1000 ties in seamlessly with TVT’s newly released N9000 NVR/DVR software, complementing a tablet look and feel.
More video options
De Oliveira reports that the new management system also supports adaptive code streams. This means operators can run split screens with different resolutions for each window. For example, the first window could run at 1080p, the second at 720p, the third at VGA and the fourth QVGA – or whatever combination the operator requires.
Moreover, the system also allows for auto-switching of live streams between resolutions depending on window size. If the operator notices something in a window that is running at a low bitrate, enlarging the window will automatically increase the bitrate for a better view. This does not affect the recording quality, nor will the recording quality selected impact the live viewing quality.
When recording video, the NVMS-1000 has been designed to make access to recorded data seamless. Whether the video is stored on a local or remote storage system, the user will not be burdened with detailing the storage path required as the platform handles it automatically, allowing operators to focus on their job instead of technical issues.
The mapping functionality in the new version has also been upgraded. The E-map feature supports full screen monitoring and the ability to pop up video footage of areas of interest, or even stack or tile various video previews. Users can also rely on improved accuracy in the e-mapping service.
Users already running a TVT management platform will find it easy to extend and upgrade the system to include the NVMS-1000. It is available in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.
