Security inspection management

Monticello Grand Casino and Entertainment World, the largest casino in Chile, was opened in 2009 with a spectacular performance by Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony. Located only 45 minutes from Santiago, Monticello Casino has hosted celebrations like Carnival Under the Stars, exclusive parties with the world’s best DJs, and sporting events that include the Tennis Masters Tournament. Designed for fun for all ages, Monticello is a family-friendly destination and offers the largest range of entertainment in the country, all under one roof.

In July, the casino experienced a fatal firearm attack which caused two deaths and left six people injured. The incident forced the casino and related governmental departments to review the existing security situation. As a reputable entertainment provider, and with increasing terror attacks globally along with growing tension among nations and geopolitical risks, it became necessary to enhance the organisation’s public security level.

As a place providing gambling entertainment services, Monticello needs to serve a great quantity of clients including many walk-in gamblers. It would not be realistic and possible to register every client’s identity, and it would not prevent armed attacks either. Thus, a feasible solution would be a system that can instantly and effectively detect and recognise dangerous goods including weapons to stop any potential threat to security.

ZKTeco provides security solutions that consists of various inspection control devices with different features, user-friendly software that can integrate with other security systems. It offered the casino its latest range of inspection control devices which include walk-through metal detectors and hand-held detectors.

The ZK-D3180S walk-through metal detectors were deployed in various entrances of the casino. All visitors are required to be scanned by the devices to ensure that no weapons or illegal goods are carried into the casino.

Security staff at the casino regularly patrol the area and randomly perform security inspections with the handheld metal detectors. With instant sound and LEDnotifications, once any metal weapon is discovered, staff will be promptly informed.
