Indra is a Spanish multinational and a leader in all of the markets in which it operates (energy and industry, financial services, public administrations and healthcare, telecom and media, transport and traffic, as well as defence and security). Indra Iberia operates multiple sites in different cities distributed throughout Spain and Portugal. These sites include the Indra headquarters building, R&D departments, laboratories, technical and computer rooms and administrative offices.
As Indra is a highly dynamic enterprise that operates in an environment where it needs to act fast on market potential, the company needed a scalable and flexible access control system that would allow it to optimise security operations. After considering multiple manufacturers, UTC Fire & Security was selected for the job.
Over time, UTC Fire & Security’s access control solution has been deployed starting with the SecurePerfect solution and upgrading it to the FC Wnx platform to control the access to buildings and critical rooms like server rooms, office and storage rooms and other sensitive areas. The Indra business unit ‘Seguridad’, together with the cooperation of UTC Fire & Security, was responsible for developing this project which incorporates more than 500 badge readers and a system that is growing year by year.
Indra access control architecture is deployed on UTC Fire & Security hardware and is based on micro 5 and micro 2000 controllers and on PXN+ technology, which is known for its low maintenance rate and high availability.
