Managers are living in the real world and may have to deal with life impacting or life and death situations, and make hard decisions quickly. For every minute that passes without a decision, there may be issues taking place that they may not be aware of, which may impact on the eventual outcome of the situation.
Managers often have to rely on usable and reliable information to ensure that their region of responsibility is in shipshape condition. However, there may be instances where the staff will not alert their managers of issues for a host of reasons. Perhaps they made a mistake and are trying to cover it up, they could be trying to protect someone else, or could be harassed by criminals and are embarrassed or scared to inform the manager.
Decision makers have to be able to pick the situation up quickly by knowing what questions to ask and how to detect the truth of the matter by using deception detection and soft interrogation techniques if necessary.
The SAIS-endorsed Security Risk Investigation Workshop will be held on 23 June from 9 am to 4.30 pm at the Corporate Conference Centre in Linksfield. Apart from the course, attendees will obtain access to the new Deception Detection E-Manual for one year.
The rate is R3200 and interested parties can contact Errol at BTC Training, [email protected] to register or for more information.
