Fortinet has further invested in the African market through the appointments of three new members. This reinforcement of the team aims at expanding its business growth on the African market, says Perry Hutton, regional vice president–Africa at Fortinet.
“As the African market matures, we are seeing increased demand for advanced network security solutions across the continent, and resulting strong growth for Fortinet in Africa. Since our go-to-market strategy relies heavily on our channel partner ecosystem, it is vital that we enable our channel with a high level of technical expertise and knowledge transfer. Our new appointments will bolster our ability to support the channel in South Africa and across the continent.”
Matthew Barker joins Fortinet as senior major accounts manager – wireless technologies. He will focus on driving Fortinet’s enterprise class wireless product portfolio into the African market. He comes with 20 years of experience in the storage, security and networking industries, servicing multiple territories and customers across the continent.
Jakes Wolfaardt joins the company as systems engineer advanced technologies in southern Africa. He comes with 12 years’ experience in the security industry and previously worked with Fortinet’s solutions for eight years within one of Fortinet’s largest MSSP Partners, Internet Solutions.
Dean Horsten joins Fortinet as a secure wireless technology expert. He brings experience and leadership as a wireless technician installing radio equipment for carriers such as MTN Africa and Ericsson Sweden covering the entire Africa region. Horsten will focus on improving the security solutions on top of the wireless interface – now a key focus area for enterprises around the world.
