Milestone Systems Southern Africa has appointed a new channel business manager (CBM) to replace Mike Metcalfe, who will be moving to a similar position with the company in Australia. The new CBM is Armand Steffens, who takes over after over a decade at Duxbury Networking where he was the business development manager for products such as Netgear.
Steffens looks forward to the challenge and sees the new position as an opportunity to learn and expand his knowledge. He has in-depth experience in the hardware and networking field, which is ideal for Milestone and its broad range of partners, and he is looking forward to adding extensive software knowledge to his skillset.
As a business development manager, Steffens understands the importance of developing and maintaining strong relationships with partners. Milestone’s partner-based model will therefore suit his approach to business. In fact, he says his first goal is to establish and expand the relationships Milestone currently has in the region.
Naturally, he is also planning on expanding the partnership model, both in South Africa and the surrounding SADAC region. Ultimately his task is to grow the company’s brand in the region among both partners and customers.
Steffens was attracted to the company because of its excellent growth in the past few years, and he believes Milestone has significant growth potential going forward as IP surveillance becomes the norm. He also sees the Canon acquisition as a positive move that will stimulate even more growth going forward.
