Sensor Security once again held an open day in October in which it invited its partners and customers to visit the company’s site in Midrand. Apart from a lamb on the spit which made for a good lunch, the company also demonstrated the latest in Hikvision technology.
Apart from the usual suspects of IP cameras, Sensor was able to show Hikvision’s latest low light camera and demonstrate its licence plate recognition application, as part of the company’s iVMS video management software. Sensor was able to demonstrate that Hikvision has a full range of cameras for almost every requirement. Also included in the demonstration area was Hikvision’s covert camera as well as its mobile DVR which is designed to survive the stresses of in-vehicle recording.
Sensor also gave visitors an overview of Hikvision’s non-surveillance products, which include access control, intercoms, and intrusion detection solutions. These products are designed for easy installation and are integrated into iVMS to ensure they can be managed with surveillance equipment as an integrated solution.
Sensor explained that the Hikvision access and intrusion products are available in South Africa, but the company is taking a conservative approach to rolling it out to market as it intends to establish a support system and also prove to customers that its systems are as effective and reliable as customers require.
With a steady of stream of visitors throughout the day. Sensor’s 2015 open day again proved a success.
