In keeping the memory alive and celebrating Nelson Rholihlahla Mandela’s birthday, Reditron staff contributed gloves, beanies, socks and clothes to the Leratong Joy for One Home (under the Ketex Foundation) in Alexandra. The children’s faces lit up at the ladies’ visit and the donation was highly appreciated by the home.
The Cape Town branch was also part of this worthy cause. In celebration of the Nelson Mandela Day, it handed over some warm clothes (including blankets, beanies and gloves) to the Home of Hope founder and CEO, Eleanor Brook.
Reditron also donated library books to the Inkanyezi School in Alexandra, which were sourced by Qualibooks – a mobile library company that supplies reading and story books for children in primary schools.
Senior staff members, which included Mel Labuschagne (MD), Glynis Penny (HR Director, Regal Group) and Cama Rebe (marketing manager), handed over the book donation and spent time with the children packing the books into a Reditron branded mobile library cart.
“Reditron believes corporate social responsibility (CSR) is about creating shared value. That means keeping a dual focus in our business decisions: what is good for us as a company and what contributes to the greater good of the communities in which we live and work in,” said Cama Rebe, marketing manager of Reditron.
