With an increasing demand for its range of access control hardware products, Turnstar established a branch in Cape Town in February 2014. Due to the popularity and commercial success of the brand in the area, the company recently moved to larger facilities at Elect Business Park in Brackenfell, Western Cape. The 350 m² facilities complement the company’s newly renovated 7700 m² factory in Johannesburg.
Turnstar director Craig Sacks says that the full range of turnstiles, speedstiles, revolving doors, man-trap cubicles, vehicle barriers, high security spike barriers, anti-terror rising bollards and road blockers will be available from the Cape Town branch and supply will be unaffected by the move.
The facilities include offices, a presentation area and a warehouse and will be manned by a knowledgeable and experienced team that includes internal and external sales, technical support and two teams of technicians who will be available to provide installation and repair capabilities.
Recent major projects handled by the Cape Town branch include a contract to provide 12 Triton curved glass full height turnstiles for the offices of a large South African online retailer in the Western Cape region. With an extensive stockholding of household consumer goods stored, the retailer was faced with security issues concerning the ingress and egress of people at its facilities. The need to ensure that only authorised personnel were able to access specific areas within the compound was critical. Another project included the supply of 12 Talon tyre-spike barriers to the brand new takealot.com warehouse.
