Ziton, a leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of fire detection systems, has won a prestigious SABS Design Institute award. An award, in the engineering category, was received for the ZP755 analog addressable range of loop sounders. Models available include a horn sounder, base sounder - which doubles as a socket for a fire detector - and a room sounder.
The horn sounder incorporates an accurately folded exponential horn and was developed using sophisticated 3D modelling software. The use of mechanical amplification and an on-board microcontroller, to manage power, has resulted in a very efficient unit. Up to a hundred sounders may be powered by the addressable loop. A unique self-test feature is built into all models.
This feature utilises a built-in microphone to confirm sounder operation. The ZP755 is fully programmable and output levels vary from 90 to 105 dBA, depending on the model.
