HID has incorporated its embedded proximity (eProx) technology in an alarm panel for use in residential and business security systems.
This feature enables proximity cards to be used to arm and disarm alarm systems, eliminating the need to use a keypad. Initial estimates indicate that replacing this step with the ease and reliability of a proximity card can reduce false alarms by 25-30%.
In addition to bypassing the keypad, the use of proximity cards and keyfobs can be restricted to designated time periods, helping to ensure that persons gain access only when authorised.
"The new eProx alarm product is the latest addition to our extensive line of embedded proximity technology offerings," said Mark Scaparro, HID Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "By incorporating our eProx technology, we provide a solution that our customers can offer to their customers to help them reduce false alarms, enjoy the convenience and security of HID's proximity technology and leverage the value of existing HID products they are already using," he concludes.
