Training on DVTel analytics

January 2015 News & Events

Graphic Image Technologies (GIT) is now offering training to integrators and value-added resellers on DVTel ioimage cameras and encoders with edge-based analytics.

This full two-day course equips attendees with the necessary skills to enable them effectively to install, configure and operate DVTel video analytics systems, from cameras to hardware, servers to client workstations and all associated technology. It also includes troubleshooting procedures and techniques, to enable resellers and integrators to effectively address common challenges and problems when it comes to installation and configuration of the solutions.

“Never before has there been so much choice and flexibility in a video analytics solution. DVTel offers the most comprehensive video analytics portfolio in the security industry today, for all sites, topologies, architectures and detection applications, regardless of current infrastructure. The analytical capabilities of the DVTel solutions are incredibly powerful.

However, in order for end users to be able to take advantage of this capability, it is critical that the solutions are installed and configured correctly. By offering training and certification on the entire process, we are helping customers to fully leverage the power of advanced video analytics to improve their security,” explains Laurence Smith, executive at GIT.

GIT’s two-day training programme covers the DVTel Meridian 8-channel and 16-channel network video recorder (NVR) with on-board Power over Ethernet (PoE) as well as the Horizon NVR which supports up to 100 cameras. For resellers and integrators wishing to offer the Latitude NVR, which supports limitless cameras, a three-day programme is on offer. Integrators are required to be certified on the Latitude system in order to be able to install and maintain these solutions.

“By offering a full training programme we are empowering resellers and integrators with a better understanding of the products, enabling them to effectively create the correct set up for the analytics solutions. This in turn minimises the number of false alarms generated by the analytics tools, which leads directly to better product performance. Training also ensures that all end users receive professional installations conducted to the highest quality standards, which in turn enhances the reputation of the resellers and integrators,” Smith adds.

The first DVTel product training session was held in August 2014 with five of GIT’s resellers attending. Colin Joffe Electronics, OPM Technologies, Mobeni Integrated Systems, Baeletsi Technologies and Cubed Systems / 7 Arrows all achieved certification to resell, install and maintain DVTel analytics solutions. This training course will be offered on an as-required basis going forward. Additional training courses will also be on offer in the future.
