Ideco recently celebrated a decade in the ever-evolving biometrics arena by hosting its annual Ideco & Partners golf day to commemorate this milestone.
Over the years, Ideco has distributed in excess of 100 000 fingerprint readers which have been deployed to securely manage more than 2.5-million people in a diverse range of professionally-managed, security-conscious businesses. Furthermore, Ideco has invested more than R3-million in research and development and integration support during the last year alone, to help its partners compete effectively in the biometric market. This has resulted in an increase of 32% in revenue.
Looking forward, the company will invest close to R10-million in the near future in new product development and endeavour to develop previously untapped markets. Ideco MD, Marius Coetzee says he is extremely proud of his team. “Ten years in a sector that constantly changes and continuously evolves is an enormous achievement. The last two years specifically have been a constant process of reinventing our focus and our structures.”
He commended the partners. “Ideco lives in an ecosystem and needs the help from its partners while we need to help our partners. We have seen relationships that are destructive and not helping anyone in this industry. We have also seen relationships that are making a huge contribution to the security industry as a whole. Today, I can proudly say that we have finally laid the foundation that would enable those partners who back Ideco unreservedly.”
Achievements unlocked
As part of the celebrations, Coetzee presented a number of awards to partners and individuals to recognise their contribution and achievements. The awards resented included:
